Location: 100% onsite position at the Sequoia Regional Cancer Center Embrace a work-life balance that fits your lifestyle! Join us for a fulfilling Monday to Friday schedule from 7 AM to 6 PM with the added benefit of flexible hours.
Responsible for the evaluating preparing and dispensing of oncology medications; verifies prescribed medications according to professional standards, facility procedures, and state and federal legal requirements.Ensures and behaves with a focus on excellent customer service and clinical care.Consults with patients and providers regarding individual medications or supplies prescribed, including dosage, frequency, specialized requirements and possible drug interactions.Oversees compounded preparations within the oncology pharmacy and collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure quality of compounded preparations and compliance with regulatory and best practices involving compounding.Reviews and evaluates patient's plan of care for therapeutic appropriateness.Participates in regulatory body surveys, fielding questions and matters related to compounding, and other pharmacy related operations and services.Assists in the fiscal management of the oncology pharmacy to optimize profits and control expenses consistently consulting with the other relevant managers and directors.Assists with managing all functions for the oncology pharmacy technicians such as hiring, training, terminating, and performance management.Monitors the overall performance of all oncology pharmacy staff members to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policies, practices and approved pharmaceutical dispensing processes.Assists in development and maintaining and executing all established procedures concerning compounding, order sets, operational workflows, quality improvement, quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and record keeping.Oversees medication procurement, inventory controls, shortage management and formulary processes within the outpatient oncology setting.Collaborates with Pharmacy Leadership to help ensure regulatory compliance with regards to the 340b program.Makes recommendations to the managers regarding any changes to improve operating procedures, or to improve and facilitate patient care.Performs prescription verification of all prescriptions and provides technical guidance to pharmacy technicians.Promptly and appropriately responds to patient inquiries, requests and issues when situations are escalated to a higher level of authority. Follows through on closing any outstanding patient concerns to provide a superior level of customer care.Provides consultation on pharmacy and therapeutic matters to various levels of organizational personnel.Completes staff schedule for the pharmacy technicians to include sick time, vacation time, personal and holiday time and adjusts scheduling as appropriate to assure optimal patient care is maintained.Participates in departmental meetings, committees and in-service training for outpatient oncology services.Works collaboratively with organizational personnel on quality, satisfaction, service excellence, clinical care, etc. as needed.Performs related duties as assigned.Requirements:
Normally requires Bachelors of Science Degree or Pharm D degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy a Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited College of Pharmacy; current, unrestricted pharmacist license through the appropriate state board of pharmacy. Also requires broad training and/or experience in the fields of business administration, sales, marketing, information technology and retail/ambulatory pharmacy. Normally requires zero (1) to three (3) years of directly related and progressively responsible retail/ambulatory care pharmacy experience.

Salary Range*$98,200 - 151,250*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
