Job Summary
The Oncology Research Coordinator, under the guidance and supervision of the Hendrick Center for Research Director and Manager, assists the Principal Investigator (PI) and Study Coordinator in ensuring the integrity and quality of Oncology-specific clinical trials are maintained and conducted in compliance with federal and state regulations, Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals, and Hendrick Health policies and procedures. This position is responsible for coordinating execution and follow-up of oncology clinical trials according to applicable protocols, as well as collection of information from study patients while protecting health, safety, and welfare of research participants.
Job Requirements
Minimum Education Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Science-related field. Minimum Work Experience Required Licenses/Certifications RN or BSN, licensed in the state of Texas if applicable OR Relevant Research Certification Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Knowledge of medical practices, terminology, and reimbursement policies. Minimum of basic knowledge of oncology diagnoses, treatment types and options, and relevant diagnostic procedures. Knowledge in overcoming barriers from diagnosis to treatment including: financial/economic, language/culture, transportation issues. Basic knowledge in microbiology and clinical pathology. Skill in planning, organizing, delegating, and supervising. Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures. Skill in problem solving. Skill in verbal and written communication. Skill in speaking engagements and other activities that raise awareness to diseases and disease processes. Ability to read, interpret and apply policies and procedures. Ability to set priorities among multiple requests. Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public effectively.
