One Call/Damage Prevention Coordinator (Houston, TX) Job ID #: 29354 Location: TX-HOUSTON Functional Area: Misc./Trades Position Type: Full Time Experience Required: 3 - 5 Years Relocation Provided: No Education Required: Associates Degree RC/Department: 5408 -GPL-DP ONE CALL :KMPL Position Description Candidates for this position will be required to have an overall understanding of Geographical Information Systems mapping techniques and design. Knowledge of ESRI’s ArcGIS software is required and a general understanding of pipeline systems would be a plus. Among the candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: KMOC One Call system support, Aerial Patrol Program support, One Call Viewer program support, as well as providing data analysis as required by customers. Responsibilities for the person in this position would include the following: • Interact with customers to maintain, update, and create One Call CDC areas. • Maintain, update, and distribute various system reports • Provide immediate, quality response to high priority or emergency Database and one call issues. • Work closely with I.T. to maintain system reliability and access. • Create maps and reports for encroachment investigations. • Maintain all DP programs with latest data from PODS/GIS group. • Train and present to Field Operations and other users on deployed software packages, One Call systems, etc. • Install and support DP software. • Maintain DP system schematics • Maintain DP CDC & Distribution database • Maintain & enhance DP costs and ticket analysis database • Must be available for server program monitoring and maintenance on a rotating schedule • Must be available for afterhours calls and support on a rotating schedule • Other duties assigned Position Requirements Education • A degree from an accredited institution or equivalent related pipeline industry experience is preferred • Associates degree in GIS or Engineering Sciences or equivalent experience working with pipeline databases may be considered Skills/Qualifications • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work with all levels of management as well as employees in corporate and field offices • Strong leadership skills with a history of leading teams to complete projects. A history of executing projects with challenging circumstances is preferred. • Strong project coordination, planning and overall management skills • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, interpersonal skills, analytical skills and the ability to analyze a problem from various perspectives and make sound recommendations are required. • Employee must have a good understanding of data flow through various systems and understand basic table structures • The individual must be self-motivated and willing to learn new and changing technologies. • Individual must possess the drive for self-directed work activity and be able to maintain a close working relationship with reporting employees in multiple locations. • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required. • A technical understanding of pipeline systems is preferred - including but not limited to GIS, Pipeline Database Systems (PODS, ISAT), Class/HCA Location Determination, Public Awareness, components and characteristics of Pipeline material and data associated with the Pipelines • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize daily work to meet schedules and objectives, maintain confidentiality, and work with remote team members • Job level commensurate with skill set, knowledge, and experience • Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets, employees, and the general public • Position requires occasional travel • Programming or CAD experience would be considered valuable, but not required • Other duties as assigned EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER STATEMENT: We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any other federal, state or local protected class.
