Position Summary: Provides assistance to the nursing staff by participating in and performing basic one -on-one bedside care helping with everyday tasks, help keep the patient safe and provide companionship.
Responsibilities:
Ability to learn and maintain organizational policies, procedures and standards to assist in the delivery of patient care. Ability to provide interpersonal communication, engaging and/or changing focus of patient from undesired behavior(s). Ability to communicate effectively with patient, staff and family members. Provides companionship by talking to, playing games with, or going for walks with patient as directed/allowed by nursing staff. Maintain a safe physical environment for patient. Ability to determine when help from nursing staff or security is appropriate and/or necessary. Ability to use computer and software to communicate, clock in/out, schedule and complete education requirements. Maintain confidentiality.Qualifications:
Required:
Basic Life Support within two weeks of hire.Preferred:
Associates or Bachelors degree in healthcare related field. Previous hospital experience Ideal candidates may be retired allied health/nursing professionals.Infection Control: Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Trainings could include but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.
