Our Team

From take-off to landing, Thales offers the most complete range of solutions to provide dynamic Air Traffic Services to support today's growing domestic and international travel requirements. Utilising this knowledge and experience Thales Australia will deliver a harmonised Civil/Military Air Traffic Management System (OneSKY) in Australia to Airservices Australia and Defence. 

This will enable a new level of safety and efficiency, while also reducing delays for the travelling public and providing opportunities to improve environmental outcomes. OneSKY will transform Australia’s sky and we are proud to be partners in its delivery.

Your role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated V&V Engineer to join our OneSKY V&V Team. As a V&V, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the quality and functionality of our software products through comprehensive testing and defect identification. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and designers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.

This position is based in our office in Melbourne CBD.

Some responsibilities include:

Test Procedure Creation and Traceability - Create and maintain test procedures to verify Functional Baseline and Allocated Baseline requirements, ensuring traceability to system requirementsConduct of Verification and Validation Tests - Conduct verification and validation tests according to the Project Plan, Project Schedule, and relevant engineering procedures at various locations (Thales premises, supplier premises, customer premises).Test Procedure Reviews and Reporting - Participate in Test Procedure Reviews and Test Readiness Reviews with internal teams, suppliers, and the customer. Regularly report on testing progress against planning and budget.Defect Management - Record test results and defects in the project's Test Management System and Defect Management System. Track and verify defect corrections, including regression testing, and contribute to the Defect Change Control Board.

On day one you will come with

Experience working within the Air Traffic Management domainSolid  understanding  of  software  development  life  cycle  (SDLC),  testing  methodologies,  and  best practicesProficiency  in  creating  test  plans,  test  cases,  and  test  scripts,  and  executing  them  manually  or
through automated testing toolsFamiliarity with bug tracking systems and test management toolsExperience in System Engineering tools e.g. DOORs, Jira
