Overview

This is a US based remote-based position. 

ECPI University is seeking an Online Arts & Sciences Program Director. This position will include progressive management experience, instruction, curriculum, student success, enforcement of policies and procedures, along with accreditation standards to maintain quality education which meets state and federal requirements and ECPI University guidelines.

Responsibilities

Faculty and Team Management

Lead and support faculty members to ensure effective teaching practices and adherence to online policies and procedures. Manage faculty recruitment, hiring, and mentoring in conjunction with the Director of Online Training and Development. Conduct regular faculty observations and provide feedback to enhance faculty teaching performance. Cultivate a collaborative team environment, promoting communications and teamwork among faculty. Organize and lead faculty meetings and professional development sessions to promote continuous improvement. Schedule faculty each term ensuring full coverage to support our programs and communicate all schedule changes to faculty in a timely fashion.

Curriculum Development

Work closely with the Arts & Sciences Dean in the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of online curricula, textbooks, and course content in accordance with university standards, institutional needs, and changing needs of employers. Coordinate with the Arts & Sciences Dean and the Product Development Team to identify and support SMEs for curriculum development and support project plans and timelines, ensuring adherence to deadlines and milestones. Communicate regularly with stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns.

Students 

Teach Online Classes Create and maintain an environment conducive to online learning, employing instructional technology and active learning approaches to enhance the online learning experience. Identify at risk students in Arts & Sciences courses and ensure communication with various departments to which the students belong ensuring they receive appropriate support. Participate in the academic advising and counseling of students as needed. Participate in student retention efforts and planning.  Review various student surveys to identify and implement plans for faculty/course/programmatic improvement.

Professional Development

Stay current in subject matter through professional development. Suggest ongoing professional development for faculty to ensure they remain current in the LMS, technology, trends, issues, and practices in the field, as well as effective teaching strategies and assessment methods.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Master’s degree in any Arts & Sciences discipline with 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline from a regionally accredited educational institution. Ph.D. preferred. 5 years progressive management experience. 3-5 years industry experience preferred. 2 years online teaching experience required. 2 years online curriculum development required.

Skills/Abilities:

Requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate student and department needs. Exemplary interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills. Technical skills –Current hardware and software experience specific to the industry. Strong professional record with proven ability to build and motivate a remote team to achieve well communicated expectations, with a focus on results. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with orientation toward results. LMS experience preferred, Canvas Learning management system highly desirable.
