Onsite Coordinator

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Supervisor, Onsite Services and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel – and our customers – to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location:  Branford, CT

Shift: Mon – Fri, 7:30 am - 4pm

Wage Range: $23 - $25

What we’re looking for  

Education: High school diploma or GED is required; Associate degree or undergraduate degree in business or science related field is preferred.

Experience: 4 years' experience in customer services, purchasing, and/or account management required.

Collaboration Tool: Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills required.

Knowledge of ERP Systems.

Excellent customer service skills including a professional can do demeanor is a must-have.

Basic purchasing and inventory knowledge required.

High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies, and procedures.

Must be flexible, adaptable, and multitask oriented.

Ability to self-manage, motivate others, and be forward-thinking.

Strong verbal and written communication skills,

Previous experience managing associates is preferred.

Spill containment, IATA, DOT, and Hazwoper training a plus.

GMP and GLP training a plus.

CPR training and OSHA Right to Know preferred.

Inside sales experience and cross-referencing skills are a plus.

Proven time management, forecasting knowledge, and/or expediting experience.

Strong problem-solving & analytical skills.

Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills; display a professional can-do attitude.

High regard for safety, quality, and site/customer protocols, policies, and procedures.

Flexible, motivated, and have the ability to act independently.

Must be able to safely lift 50lbs minimum.

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.
 

In this role you will:

Responsible for inventory management of consumables and chemicals including documenting inventory movement by recording additions, disbursements, adjustments, losses, and removal of items and accurate inventory control, processing requests leading to inventory movement on and off site and fulfilling customer metric reporting.Prepare inventory reports by collecting and analyzing information on stock usage.Maintain inventory operations by following policies and procedures, as well as reports any changes as needed.Monitor slow moving and dead inventory, conduct cycle counting, yearly physical inventories, and reporting.Plan daily customer service functions and communicates with the customer relative to inventory management.Handle purchasing functions including but not limited to: back order reporting and expediting, direct factory shipments, 3rd party support, managing quotes, document control, records maintenance, and resolving open invoices or pricing issues.Provide a high-level of customer service related to functions including but not limited to order entry, reporting, maintaining metrics, and cost savings tracking.Perform shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material, handling routine issues, operating basic warehouse equipment, entering shipping information into the customer computer system, and equipment inspections.Handle hazardous material and prepare shipping documentation and packaging requirements.Interface directly with customer point of contact, purchasing directors, facility directors and plant managers.Manage consigned, non-consigned, customer owned, and 3rd party inventory.Utilize Avantor and customer computer systems (SAP, Citrix, Intranet, Avantor Inventory Management Systems, ChemSW, and customer specific systems) in fulfillment of job duties.Meet goals and objectives: safety, performance, and quality.Create programs for enhanced service efficiencies.Interfacing with Avantor Sales Force and manufacture representatives.Document change management.Responsible for desktop delivery of inbound packages to customer contactsUpdating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures.Glass Wash/AutoclavingShipping (IATA/DOT) /Receiving/ Internal deliveriesMetrics collection/validationFreezer and Chemical management/support
