JOB SUMMARY
\nThe Health Information Management (HIM) Associate position is accountable for a wide variety of functions within the HIM department which include the following: completion of birth registry requirements (to include Acknowledgement of Paternity), scanning and quality control of medical record documents, release of information and record completion functions. The specific functions assigned rely on the complexity and staffing needs of the facility.

\nThis medical records position is 100% onsite, not remote or hybrid.
\nHours are ONE of the shifts below:
\n\nSunday - Thursday 8:00a to 4:30p\nTuesday - Saturday 8:00a to 4:30p\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
\n\nMonitors and assigns medical record deficiencies to appropriate provider for completion, completes medical record suspension, and monitors chart completion for coding.\nProcesses legal birth certificates according to State laws and hospital policy.\nRetrieves medical records from unit, prep, scan and index documents and perform quality control of documents with EHR\nPerforms release of information to ensure compliance with policy and State Federal requirements.\nResearch, troubleshoot, and resolve documentation issues on accounts.\nPerform Proxy processing to ensure compliance with BSW policy and State and Federal requirements.\nAssist physicians with completing legal death certificates according to State laws and hospital policy.\nCross trained and provide backup coverage for all job functions of HIM Technician.\n\nKEY SUCCESS FACTORS

QUALIFICATIONS
\n\nEDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent\nEXPERIENCE - 2 Years of Experience\n\nPreferably in a healthcare facility.\nMedical Records knowledge would be a key success factor for this role.\n\n\n
