Open Rank Clinical Faculty, Radiation Oncology

The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Virginia seeks applications to fill a tenure-ineligible open rank faculty position to lead the Culpeper Radiation Oncology service. The successful candidate will provide clinical services and will be expected to participate and enroll patients in clinical trials. Rank is contingent upon qualifications.
The Department of Radiation Oncology, with eight attending physicians and seven physicists, has a highly regarded residency training program for both physicians and physicists. We are part of the University of Virginia Cancer Center and occupy 20,000 sq ft of the new Emily Couric Clinic Cancer Center. Current areas of basic research include mechanisms of resistance to radiation. Active areas of clinical research include SBRT, image-guided brachytherapy, total body irradiation, Therasphere and SIR-spheres therapies and biomarkers. We have state of the art equipment including a CT-on-rails guided brachytherapy suite, three Varian trueBeam linear accelerators, a Elekta Perfixion Gamma Knife and an MRI Linac.

Candidates must have an MD, be board-certified by the American Board of Radiology in Radiation Oncology, and be eligibe for a Virginia medical license.
