The Center for Pain Therapeutics and Addiction Research (CPTAR) 

The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio (UTHSA), School Dentistry, is seeking applications for a full-time position of a tenure track/tenured faculty (Assistant, Associate or Professor level) to join the newly established Center for Pain Therapeutics and Addiction Research. 

Qualifications:

Ph.D., D.D.S./Ph.D., or M.D./Ph.D. in neuroscience or related biomedical sciences Strong publication record in Pain Therapeutics and/or Addiction Research Experience in interdisciplinary, collaborative environments Independent NIH-funded research program that complements CPTAR

About CPTAR:

The Pain research group at UTHSA’s School of Dentistry has a rich history of over 20 years, consistently generating substantial research funding, including over $36M from federal and private sources in the past decade. This group has now evolved with the establishment of CPTAR, comprising of 8-10 highly accomplished scientists/ clinicians that study various aspects of pain research.

Expectations:

Collaborate actively with existing faculty and interact with staff and students across the university. Participate in multidisciplinary teams to translate research findings. Contribute to the School’s mission through research, teaching, and clinical practice (if applicable). Function as an active member of both the School of Dentistry and The University of Texas Health Science Center.
