Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION 

In an era marked by significant geopolitical shifts and rapid technological advancements, the Department of Political Science and Law seeks to establish a concentration in National Security and Intelligence Studies Program. To lead this initiative, we seek a distinguished expert in national security and intelligence, with a specialization in China, Asian politics, and technology. This role is pivotal for addressing the evolving landscape of international security and advancing our understanding of global challenges. The successful candidate will lead the creation and implementation of the National Security and Intelligence Studies Program with a focus on China, Asian politics, and technology; will develop and teach courses on national security and intelligence, China’s political dynamics, technological capabilities, and their impact on national security; will contribute to the creation of a certificate program in National Security and Intelligence, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and enhancing scholarly discourse; and engage in research on emerging security threats, including cyber warfare and artificial intelligence, and devise effective strategies for addressing these challenges. Activities required of all faculty members include curriculum development, grant acquisition, research, recruitment and retention activities, advising, service to the department, college and university. QUALIFICATIONS

Doctorate in Political Science with demonstrated expertise on National Security and Intelligence.

Demonstrated scholarship and an active scholarly agenda.

Experience in program creation, implementation, and coordination.

Demonstrated record of teaching excellence.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
