Clinical Psychology Core Faculty
The faculty of the PsyD Program in Clinical Psychology at the Sacramento, California campus of Alliant International University invites applicants to join our APA-accredited doctoral program (PsyD) as a core faculty member in August 2025. Our Psy.D. program offers excellent generalist training incorporating a social justice orientation throughout the curriculum, with an optional Emphasis area in Trauma or Buddhist Psychotherapy. Our campus also has a newly developed training clinic for students, that so far is focused on providing low-cost telehealth therapy to adults in California. We have one full time (1.0 FTE) Open Rank Professor position available (on ground in Sacramento). This is a 9-month academic position (paid over 12 months) with full-time benefits, unionized, and considerable schedule flexibility. We are a small, highly collegial, and professionally active faculty.
This faculty position will teach courses and mentor students working on their dissertations. Core faculty are expected to maintain a course load, chair dissertations, provide service to the university and profession (e.g., serving on the University’s IRB), and engage in scholarship as noted below. Area of specialization for the position is open, with stronger candidates having a demonstrated commitment to social justice. There may be opportunities to provide clinical supervision to students (optional) which would result in a reduction in teaching units. Starting Salary (step within each rank dependent upon years of experience)
• Assistant Professor range: $78,294.42 annualized.
• Associate Professor range: $93,571.38 annualized.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: A PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
Experience: The position requires promise of excellence in graduate level teaching and a demonstrated commitment to multicultural training and social justice.
Certifications, Licenses, etc.: Licensed or license eligible as a psychologist in California within one year of beginning the position.

Teaching – Facilitating learning, including but not limited to curriculum development and teaching. Mentoring and supervision of students, including chairing PsyD dissertations.
Scholarship - Scholarship/ research reflecting the generation, integration, dissemination and application of knowledge, as well as creative and original contributions to one’s field commensurate with academic rank. Non-traditional scholarship can also be included (e.g., technical reports, podcasts).
Service - All faculty engage in service to the University, Community, and Profession commensurate with academic rank.
