Open Source Intelligence Program Manager

The Community You Will Join: 

The Global Threat Assessment Program (GTAP) provides behavior-based threat assessment and management for life safety issues that impact the Airbnb community. Our mission is to stop threats before they happen.

The Difference You Will Make:

The OSINT Global Operations Manager will report directly to the Senior Manager, Global Threat Assessment Program within the Global Safety & Security organization. This role will lead a global team of OSINT analysts and support the overall threat assessment and intelligence operations, ensuring program alignment with broader Trust and business goals.

A Typical Day: 

Provide leadership and direction for the OSINT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability. Oversee the development of threat assessment and intelligence reporting, ensuring that actionable insights are produced in a timely manner to inform executive decision-making and enhance overall security operations. Facilitate effective collaboration between OSINT, GTAP, Executive Protection/WPV, and key business units promoting transparency and alignment on strategic objectives. Lead cross-functional meetings, working groups, and steering committees, ensuring clarity of purpose and diligent follow-up on action items. Act as a liaison to both internal and external stakeholders, effectively advocating for the role of OSINT in supporting business needs and strategic initiatives. Collaborate with data analytics teams to measure and communicate OSINT’s impact through key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and performance metrics. Spearhead the preparation and presentation of Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) for GTAP and OSINT, synthesizing intelligence insights into relevant business contexts. Drive process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of OSINT operations, continually evaluating methodologies and tools to optimize performance. Ensure that OSINT and GTAP initiatives are aligned with Airbnb’s trust and safety roadmap and overarching cross-functional priorities. Review and assess OSINT toolkits to guarantee that the team is utilizing the best resources available for intelligence operations. Manage contract and vendor relationships, ensuring that OSINT operations are supported with optimal tools and services. Engage with local law enforcement partners and other investigative, research, and intelligence groups to foster collaboration and information sharing.

Your Expertise:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. 12+ years of experience executing a comprehensive OSINT program, with direct experience conducting investigations, intelligence collection and analysis, and case management. Mastery of open source research and online investigative techniques. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to think strategically and translate to tactical operations. Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables while meeting quality, timeliness, and cost requirements. Ability to sometimes work non-traditional hours (e.g., nights, weekends, and holidays) and potentially respond to emergent or time-sensitive situations. Experience working with globally dispersed teams and managing vendor relationships. Must be highly a and flexible. A positive attitude and hunger for learning. Ability to build partnerships and work collaboratively and cross-functionally. Creative and entrepreneurial. Willingness and ability to travel up to 15% of the time. This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
