We support clients' IBM and multi-vendor infrastructure, providing a simple support execution using AI as a delivery backbone across the diverse IT landscape. We enable highly available and secure environments for our clients, ensure their IT goals are achieved with project services, and deepen insights into their environments (including proactive views) with Support Insights while using AI to drive outcomes efficiently. In accomplishing this, we grow our client mindshare, thus growing our market capture, and advance clients hybrid cloud (IBM's mission 1) and AI (IBM's mission 2) journeys. **Your role and responsibilities** An OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) Admin L2 is responsible for managing, monitoring, and troubleshooting OpenShift clusters to ensure high availability, security, and optimal performance. This role involves working closely with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support containerized workloads and maintain a stable Kubernetes environment. This role acts as the second line of defence in handling escalated issues and ensuring the smooth operation of containerized workloads. Key Responsibilities: · Install, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters in various environments. · Perform routine upgrades, patches, and system enhancements to keep the OCP environments secure and up to date. · Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity of OpenShift clusters. · Oversee the complete lifecycle of cluster management, including installation, re-installation, configuration, re-configuration, implementation, and integration. · Monitor the performance and health of clusters, proactively addressing issues as they arise. · Conduct regular patch management and ensure timely VA/PT closure. · Provide troubleshooting support and resolve cluster-related issues promptly. · Manage and track the progress of all project tasks related to OCP implementation and maintenance. · Work on a 24/7 shift basis to provide continuous support and meet client requirements. **Required technical and professional expertise** 1. Support & Troubleshooting * Provide L2-level support for incidents and problems related to OpenShift (OCP). * Troubleshoot complex issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and escalate to L3 when required. * Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve platform-related issues efficiently. 2. Performance & Optimization * Monitor OCP cluster performance and proactively identify bottlenecks. * Optimize resource allocation, node scaling, and workload balancing. * Conduct capacity planning to ensure scalability and high availability. 3. Security & Compliance * Implement security policies to align with industry and organizational standards. * Perform regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and patch management. * Manage RBAC, authentication mechanisms, and encryption to secure cluster access. 4. Automation & Scripting * Develop automation scripts to streamline deployments and routine tasks. * Use Ansible, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation. * Ensure best practices for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to maintain consistency. 5. Documentation & Training * Maintain comprehensive documentation for OpenShift environments and configurations. * Provide training and mentorship to junior administrators and team members. * Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and contribute to internal technical workshops **Preferred technical and professional experience** · Strong experience in managing Red Hat OpenShift clusters. · In-depth knowledge of cluster installation, configuration, and maintenance. · Experience with high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies in OpenShift environments. · Familiarity with patch management and vulnerability assessments (VA/PT). · Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. · Ability to work in a fast-paced, shift-based environment, including after-hours support.
