Job Description
Skills: OpenStack, Cloud, Network, Infrastructure, VPN
1. OpenStack/Cloud Architect (3; Strong experts and lead architects; 12+ years experience)
· Experience in creating high-level design by mapping and selecting different OpenStack components to user requirements by working with other senior architects and business personnel
· Experience and familiarity with different OpenStack vendor distributions (e.g.Redhat, HP, Mirantis, CISCO) to evaluate them against requirements
· Create detailed designs for OpenStack-based cloud implementations
· Propose integration approach with existing services and applications -using REST APIs and leading/mentoring Ruby/Python/Jenkins developers.
· Perform capacity planning for the cloud and provide hardware recommendations for OpenStack compute, storage (Swift)
· Work with engineering teams to validate implementation details
· Hands-on experience with Hypervisors and Software defined Storage and Network
· Knowledge of resource pools and availability zones
· Hands-on experience with Open Source frameworks (e.g., CloudFoundry, Cloudify, OpenShift, Hadoop)
· Configuration management frameworks (e.g., Puppet, Chef)
· Knowledge of OpenStack metering, multi-tenancy, Security groups, virtual networks and network topologies
· Knowledge of scheduling compute and volume requests, Image management and recovery mechanisms
· Knowledge on multiple storage backend and volume drivers
· Experience in integrating OpenStack with IBM SCO and experience with VMware vCloud Director are strong plus
· Experience with SuperMicro, Quanta and Dell servers and NetApp storage is a strong plus.
2. Senior OpenStack/Cloud Server Engineer (3)
· Strong experience in OpenStack compute and storage component with in-depth understanding of the features and limitations of server hardware from multiple vendors to support Ubuntu, KVM and OpenSatck
· Good understanding of datacenter architectures and hands-on experience in designing, installing, monitoring and managing large multi-tenant infrastructures
· Evaluate SuperMicro hardware for usage as Swift node
· Evaluate Quanta RackGo for usage as high density compute node
· Evaluate Dell hardware for usage as compute node (if hardware available)
· Performance analysis (stress testing, CPU, memory, disk, network)
· Setup instructions for Ubuntu 12.04
· BIOS feature evaluation
· Hardware configurability via API/automation
· Available heat and power metrics under varied load scenarios
