Job Description An Insight Global client is hiring an Operating Building Engineer for a yearlong contract with the possibility of a permanent role in the future. This person manages work orders for HVAC and electrical systems, handles maintenance and repair of chillers in warehouses and lab facilities, and performs preventive maintenance tasks. They troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, conduct inspections, and respond to tenant service requests. Complete accurate record-keeping and compliance with safety regulations are essential. Collaboration with team members to improve building operations and efficiency is expected, along with on-call duties and after-hours work as needed, meaning there is the possibility for overtime. The Building Engineer performs maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems. They manage facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, and inventory control. Maintenance tasks include cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and changing parts to maintain HVAC systems. Compliance with safety procedures and periodic checks of tool inventory are required. Monitoring the quality and pricing of work by outside contractors and recognizing safety hazards are also part of the role.
