Operating Engineer

The Operating Engineer is responsible for properly operating all mechanical systems;for performing selected preventive and corrective maintenance duties as directed; formonitoring and operating building automation system hardware, software, and sensors andcomponents. The incumbent will be responsible for the operation, preventive and correctivemaintenance for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This position requiresa Class 4 City of Pittsburgh Stationary Engineers License, Universal CFC Certification,and a minimum of five years’ experience as a licensed stationary or operating engineer:a minimum of three years’ experience monitoring and operating building automationsystems controlling a large and complex physical plant. The Operating Engineer musthave experience with computer-based energy management systems and DDC control. Incumbent must be mobile around campus, be able to lift 50 pounds, crawl into confined spaces including manholes and utility tunnels, as well as maneuver around small areas andbe able to lift equipment and supplies.
