Operating Room Assistant at Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Ctr-Tarzana, CA.  Position available is full-time and will work 8-hour Day shift.

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, this position is responsible for assisting the operating room staff members in providing pre- and post-operative care to patients.  Specific areas of responsibility include: patient transportation, patient transfer within the operating rooms, holding retractors as assigned, shave preps, and assisting with clerical functions.

Required qualifications:

Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association  California Fire and Life Safety Card - National Organization within 30 days of hire 1 year of experience in an acute care setting 1 year of experience that provided general knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology and operative procedures

Preferred qualifications:

Coursework/Training and CNA, Instrument tech, Surgery tech    Or equivalent educ/experience 1 year of Operating room experience or evidence of on-the-job training program. 1 year of experience as nurse aide or transporter. 1 year of experience with Operating Room instrumentation and equipment
