Operating Room Coordinator
Job Summary Acts as department liaison for OR/Surgical Services. Collaborates with company reps, surgeons, and OR staff to ensure availability of items necessary for patient care. Participates in in-services with the OR staff for new equipment/supplies/instruments. Participates in year-end inventories. Receives, transports, orders, and stock medications within the scope of practice. Troubleshoots/seeks out any problems/discrepancies and shares with Administrator and OR to be proactive in resolution. Provides excellent customer service relating to customer inquiries, purchase orders, invoice resolution and par levels. Performs all computer functions related to Lawson, handhelds and other computer systems within Materials Management. Coordinates timely equipment repairs, arranges for substitutes/loaner/borrowing equipment if necessary to meet patient/surgeon/OR needs. Works with individuals and groups within and outside the organization to develop and manage strategies and tactics designed to improve the strategic direction, positioning, and performance of Novant Health and its affiliated organizations. Qualifications + Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. + Experience: Minimum three years materials management OR will accept Minimum of three years broad OR/Surgical Services, required. Healthcare experience, preferred. + Additional Skills (required): PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Excel, Team oriented with good communication skills. + Additional Skills (preferred): OR/Surgical Services materials management and logistics, planning, and support operations.
