The Operating Technician sets up, operates and monitors automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Monitors meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines to ensure adherence to production/process specifications. Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures and follows emergency procedures as necessary. May rotate through various production/process equipment operator roles. Works within established procedures and guidelines with limited ability to modify methods and approach. Has skills developed through work experience or formal training. Completes work with a moderate degree of supervision. Resolves routine issues.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. (Required)
Key responsibilities will be/what you’ll do:
Successfully complete certification programs for all 3 process areas within proscribed time frames.
Operate process related equipment and plant process control systems in a safe, environmentally responsible, and efficient manner
Optimize plant performance by monitoring processes while the collecting and reporting related measurements such as asset utilization, quality, costs, yield, environmental health and safety, and production rates
Adjust control systems and manually operated equipment based on process and lab data
Determine root causes of deviations in process, product or equipment performance through use of troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis
Operate of forklifts and other material handling equipment
Perform preventative maintenance and equipment repair
Understand and follow all Burley Site procedures, policies, guidelines, and rules.
Use and wear all necessary personal protective equipment and uniforms required by the job.
Actively participate in Burley Site safety programs
