Job Summary
Purpose of the Role:The Operation Leader, Accounting, will be responsible for overseeing the accounting activities across four regions. This role ensures accurate bookkeeping, compliance with regulations, timely reconciliations, and continuous improvement in accounting processes. The Operation Leader will manage a team of 2 to 3 direct reports and approximately 25 full-time employees (FTEs), fostering a proactive and engaged work environment. The role also involves clear stakeholder management and effective communication with various departments.
Supervision and Management:
Oversee end-to-end accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations
Manage overall team performance, driving an engaged and proactive mindset
Ensure team utilization, holiday balance, and mandatory trainings are on track with set guidelines
Conduct timely performance reviews and propose off-cycle increases and promotions
Accounting Activities:
Ensure accurate bookkeeping and timely reconciliations
Review aged items and implement improvement plans
Monitor accounting activities globally, driving change and integration
Stakeholder Management:
Proactively inform the Record-to-Report Manager of any issues and drive resolutions
Maintain clear communication with accounting supervisors, regional accounting directors, and other stakeholders
Process Improvement:
Drive process improvements and harmonization within the teams
Implement new transitions and ensure smooth delivery of accounting processes
Team Development:
Conduct interviews and make decisions on team fit and salary
Foster a team-oriented environment with a can-do mentality
Ensure excellent customer service and critical thinking within the team
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with relevant legal regulations, including the Hungarian Labor Code
Maintain a strong understanding of General Ledger accounting and reporting requirements
Requirements:
Excellent English language skills, both verbal and written
Preferably 6 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
University degree or equivalent
Good working knowledge of ERP systems (such as SAP) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
Great customer service and critical thinking abilities
