**The opportunity**
The Manulife Business Process Services (MBPS) Operational Excellence Director for Solution Delivery will be a part of the MBPS Transformation and Operational Excellence Center of Expertise.
The Director for Solution Delivery is responsible for leading the successful delivery of automation and all system solutions from inception to deployment. Work closely with business stakeholders, project management and development teams to ensure that system solutions meet business objectives and are delivered on time and within budget and to the highest quality standards.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, strong project management skills, agile methodology, continuous improvement and a deep understanding of the automation and software development processes.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Lead the entire solution delivery process, from establishing the vision, delivery planning and development to testing and launch of automation and system solutions for MBPS
+ Facilitate the establishment of the system solution vision with business stakeholders and development team
+ Collaborate with stakeholders and development team to define and refine system solutions requirements.
+ Work with the project management and development team to develop and execute comprehensive system solutions delivery plans ensuring adherence to development quality standards and best practices.
+ Work with the business stakeholders and project management team to prioritize system solutions features and allocate resources accordingly.
+ Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint reviews, retrospectives, budget reviews.
+ Lead the engagement with stakeholders, cross functional delivery teams to gather feedback, identify opportunities and drive continuous improvement of delivered system solutions.
+ Communicate effectively with stakeholders to keep them informed of project progress and address their concerns.
+ Monitor key performance indicators to measure system solutions success and identify areas for improvement. Measure and analyze delivery team’s performance, identify and address areas for improvement.
+ Lead cross-functional teams to ensure efficient collaboration and high performance.
+ Foster collaboration across teams to enhance system solutions development processes.
+ Guide and mentor project teams in adopting and implementing agile methodologies and practices.
+ Together with the project manager and development team, identify risks, plan and implement mitigation activities to ensure there is no impact to system solutions delivery timelines or quality.
**Accountabilities**
+ Oversee the delivery of MBPS automation and other system initiatives ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget.
+ Ensure all automation and system initiatives are delivered are fit for purpose and fit for use.
+ Maintain alignment between system solutions vision and project execution strategies.
+ Ensure effective collaboration across teams to enhance system solutions development processes across the delivery cycle.
+ Measure and report on automation and system performance.
+ Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Drive the resolution of any issues or conflicts that arise during solution delivery.
**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
+ 10 years of experience in software development or system solutions management or related field in a complex global organization
+ 5+ years of leadership experience or senior management position within a similar field
+ Strong understanding and experience in agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
+ Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g. Jira, Planview).
+ Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices.
+ Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
+ Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP).
+ ITIL Training and Certification Lean Six Sigma Training and Certification
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in change management software and tools
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams.
+ Strong leadership and team management skills.
+ Ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
+ Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
+ Ability to work in ambiguous environment and adapt to change while managing time and workload with aggressive timelines.
+ Experience in executing complex, multi-year programs with multiple variables and senior stakeholders, preferably with exposure to global operations and/or financial services.
