The San Diego Campus is the center of our Diagnostics Solutions Division. The Operational Excellence Project Specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating and executing major organizational initiatives while supporting operational excellence across the enterprise. This role combines project management expertise with lean methodology to support resource allocation, coordinate cross-functional teams, and drive successful project delivery. This team member will maintain visibility across strategic and operational excellence initiatives, providing leadership with insights for decision-making and risk management.
This is a fully onsite role in San Diego, CA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
_The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the below mentioned responsibilities as reasonably required by business needs._
+ Support the development and execution of complex, cross-functional projects
+ Implement and maintain standardized project management processes, including status reporting and resource tracking methodologies
+ Create and manage comprehensive project plans incorporating deliverables, milestones, budgets, and resource requirements
+ Monitor project progress continuously and make detailed scheduled reports on measurable items, such as milestones and deliverables
+ Develop and maintain project dashboards and metrics to track project health and resource utilization
+ Coordinate cross-functional discussions and prepare materials to support decision-making processes regarding project prioritization and risk mitigation
+ Utilize project management tools and systems to ensure consistent project delivery and portfolio transparency
+ Support stakeholder management and communication strategies across the organization
+ Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements
+ Support the implementation and sustainment of operational excellence initiatives and systems across the organization, ensuring alignment with business objectives
+ Manage continuous improvement projects, including resource coordination and benefit tracking
+ Apply lean methodologies in project execution, ensuring appropriate use of tools and techniques
+ Track and report operational excellence impacts and ROI
+ Work with leadership to identify improvement opportunities based on business impact
+ Support the implementation of best practices for project execution and operational excellence
Required Education and Experience
+ 5+ years of experience in project management and operational excellence or Lean manufacturing
+ Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with proven proficiency in project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, Kanban)
+ Strong understanding of lean methodologies and continuous improvement principles, with experience implementing operational excellence initiatives
+ Proficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Smartsheet) and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar) with demonstrated ability to develop business cases and ROI calculations
+ Experience in resource planning, risk assessment, and performance metrics tracking
+ Advanced knowledge of GMP principles and practices
+ Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills across all organizational levels
+ Proven problem-solving and analytical capabilities with track record of driving process improvements
+ Demonstrated ability to lead and facilitate cross-functional teams and initiatives
The annualized base salary range for this role is $95,800 to $149,900 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs, and market demand.
