Introduction

 

We are seeking an Operational Procurement Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for delivering excellent customer service through demand processing and issuance of different types of purchase orders to meet our end customer delivery date requirements, securing impeccable execution of purchases and high vendor delivery performance, whilst maintaining accurate SAP delivery dates and communication of changes to purchase order statuses to internal departments. In this position, you will report to the Senior Manager, Operational Procurement.

 

This position is mainly located in Brookfield, WI but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.

 

 

Team you belong to

 

You will join a team of Operational Procurement Specialist responsible for identifying price discrepancies, ensuring quality requirements are communicated, supplier management to provide on time deliveries, and that purchase order terms and conditions align and are met. This position is responsible for effectively managing the tactical execution of material and service demand for the assigned commodities or business areas, utilizing master data or pricing negotiated by the Strategic Procurement Group, ensuring on time delivery, to specification and PO terms, delivery of materials to various global locations.

 

 

What you’ll do

 

Procurement Requisition Management: Analyze and prioritize procurement requisitions to meet customer demands.

Supplier Performance Management: Ensure on-time delivery and maintain high communication levels with suppliers.

Issue Resolution: Identify and address issues independently during purchase order execution.Escalate unresolved problems to supervisors and internal customers.

Alternative Solutions: Provide alternative solutions during procurement execution.

Order Progress Management: Organize and timely manage the progress status of orders throughout procurement execution.

Purchase Order Creation: Create purchase orders within 2 days of requisition release. Review and update SAP order acknowledgments within 7 days of PO creation. Escalate noncompliance of PO to internal departments if unresolved.

Invoice vs PO Discrepancies: Resolve discrepancies within 7 days to ensure prompt payments.

Internal Communication: Timely review and respond to internal communication requests via the OM Ticketing Tool.

Shipment Coordination: Coordinate shipments with Logistics Teams as per PO terms.

Tool and Dashboard Management: Manage and interact with essential tools and dashboards for successful role performance.

Data Maintenance: Maintain cost and lead time data in SAP in collaboration with Sourcing/Tactical teams.

 

Who You Are:

 

Experience: 3-5 years in a purchasing environment for a multinational company.

Experience in a low volume-high mix environment is desirable. Subcontract mechanical manufacturing experience is a plus.

Skills: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Deadline-driven with excellent organizational and time management skills. Outstanding customer service skills.

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Technical Proficiency: Preferable experience in SAP/MM environment. Basic technical knowledge and understanding of blueprints is desirable. Experience with products in Metso’s range is a plus.
