Introduction:
We are seeking an Operational Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement Team. You will be responsible ensuring timely creation and delivery of purchase orders and monitor their progress to ensure on-time delivery. Your role plays a crucial part in prioritize putting the customer first, working together, and maintaining open and honest communication. In this position, you will report to the Leonardo Silva, Senior Manager, Operational Procurement.This position is a temporary psoition with a duration of 12 months. The role is mainly located in Columbia, SC but we are happy to offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options.

What You’ll Do:
Create and Deliver Purchase Orders: Ensure timely creation and delivery of purchase orders, monitoring their progress to guarantee on-time delivery. Vendor Coordination: Negotiate scheduling priorities and maintain expediting requests with vendors to align with customer needs. Handle vendor claims efficiently. Technical and Quality Coordination: Facilitate the flow of technical, quality, and logistics information between vendors and internal stakeholders. Invoice Management: Review and resolve discrepancies in vendor invoices to ensure accuracy. Internal Communication: Efficiently handle communication with multiple stakeholders to keep everyone on the same page. Shipments: Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely execution of vendor shipments. Warehousing: Work closely with the warehousing team to address any issues that arise. Tool and Data Management: Utilize essential tools and dashboards, maintaining cost and lead time data in SAP, and collaborate with Sourcing/Tactical teams. Compliance: Conduct all business transactions in line with Metso’s Global Procurement policies, procedures, guidelines, legal requirements, regulations, and ethical standards.
Who You Are:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, or Procurement-related fields. Experienced Professional: Proven experience in a procurement role with a solid understanding of logistics and supply chain activities. Organized and Efficient: High organizational and time management skills. Customer Service Expert: Enhanced customer service abilities. Communicator Extraordinaire: Advanced interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Tech-Savvy: Experience with SAP/MM is desirable. Innovative and Committed: Ability to thrive in a full, deadline-focused environment and ready to make an impact with a high level of expertise.
