Operational Resilience Manager

What is the opportunity?

The Operational Resilience Manager is responsible for implementing RBC Brewin Dolphin’s OR capability across all business, technology, and functional areas. The role ensures that the firm has an Operational Resilience framework and structure which covers all key business services and defines appropriate risk tolerances. Standards will be regularly reported to Group Board Committee for sign-off and acceptance. This is a permanent position which can be based in London, Newcastle or Edinburgh.

What will you do?

Support resilience culture initiatives and resilience training across RBC WME.

Oversight of alignment to RBC service taxonomy & service catalogues.

Oversight of service mapping process.

Support Service Owners and Pillar Owners to complete service mapping.

Provide guidance and SME input for the Operational Resilience tool.

Support Service Owners and Pillar Owners to complete service resilience threat assessments, including threat management.

Oversight of all pillar resilience evidence and results and development of pillar dashboards. 

Oversight of collation and development of service resilience dashboards.

Drive implementation to regulatory target of 31 March 2025 and beyond.

Manages key business services mapping, producing relevant and appropriate MI and KPIs. Track and communicates KPIs to maintain and improve performance levels and show movement against defined tolerances.

Implements industry standards and development methodologies to continually improve and develop the organisations approach to OR.

Ensure Senior Management and Executives and appropriate Committees and their senior teams are appraised of OR, progress and development.

Form strong relationships with key stakeholders, COO, Risk and Front Office senior teams, to ensure integrated OR planning and delivery.

Represent at appropriate OR external events and forums.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Relevant degree-level qualification.

Experience of complex operational / resilience in a wealth management context

Core leadership experience.

Reporting and analysis: MI and KPI development.

Strong business acumen and sound business knowledge across wealth management: operations; settlements; advice; portfolio management; client service.

Ability to lead & motivate people directly and in a matrix network to effectively ensure high standards of approach to OR.

Experience in Risk reporting and methodologies.

Nice-to-have

Working with C-suite level business executives.

Prior knowledge of RBC policies and procedures.
