**Job Description:**
**Job Summary**
Operational Risk Management, being part of TDS APAC Risk Management team, performs the second line oversight of Operational Risks in the bank. The successful candidate will provide independent oversight and challenge to the 1st line of defense and ensures that the risk profiles of the region and legal entities are properly understood and operating in line with Operational Risk Appetite. The successful candidate will also provide support to implement Enterprise Risk Management framework in Asia Pacific to align with Group requirements.
**Accountabilities**
Joining the Asia-Pacific Operational Risk Management Team, the successful candidate is expected to perform the following activities but not limited to:
**Operational Risk Management**
+ Review and challenge the quality and sufficiency of the business units' operational risk management activities, including the independent assessment of the Risk Owners' compliance with ORM program requirements. This includes, but not limited to, review and challenge of operational risk events, issues, control testings and process risk control self-assessments.
+ Provide oversight and challenge over the Outsourcing Lifecycle by assessing, monitoring, and reporting on outsourcing risk. This includes, but not limited to,
+ Review and challenge 1st line of defence's outsourcing assessments to ensure that the assessment outcome accurately reflects the outsourcing risk of the service provider.
+ Review and challenge the completeness and quality of MAS Outsourcing Register prior to Governance and Controls' submission to MAS.
+ Analyse historical operational risk events and/or external events and carry out risk-based deep dive reviews where necessary.
+ Participate in / manage global regulatory examinations and external / internal audits with respect to request for information.
+ Attend various local and regional meetings/ working groups and provide administrative support as required.
+ Assist in Board and Asia-Pacific Risk Committee Reporting and minutes writing.
+ Preparation and coordination of ORM trainings.
**Enterprise Risk Management**
+ Support the implementation of Enterprise risk framework, policies, standard and procedures.
+ Support the reporting and governance structures that underpin the effective implementation of ERM in the region (inclusive of risk reporting to risk oversight committees and boards).
+ Support the annual refresh of risk appetite for the region and quarterly monitoring against agreed measures of ERC and Boards.
+ Support the annual strategic risk and control self-assessment to inform risk identification and monitoring at senior executive and board levels and to support the Top, Emerging and Accepted Risk process.
This is currently an individual contributor role within the team

+ Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions
**Requirements**
+ Good understanding of risk management governance, programs, policies, practices, processes, and techniques.
+ Good knowledge of key risk types, how they inter-relate with each other and how they could impact the performance of the bank.
+ Familiarity with Wholesale Banking and its key regulatory requirements and impacts on business.
+ Familiarity with MAS and HKMA Outsourcing regulatory requirements
+ Bachelor's degree or higher from a recognized university.
+ At least 12+ years of relevant experience within the Financial Services industry spent either within 1st line Business & Control Function or Operational Risk Management.
+ Proficient in Microsoft office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
