Position Summary: (Overview of key purpose and accountability of the role)

Operational Risk Management (ORM) works as an independent team, in partnership with the businesses and corporate functions of TD Bank Group, to further the understanding and management of operational risk. TD Securities (TDS) ORM is part of the 2nd line of defence and provides independent operational risk management oversight of TD Securities.  We partner with the 1st line of defence in identifying, reporting and mitigating operational risk issues and are the subject matter experts on the operational risk framework and associated policies and standards.  The group executes 2nd line accountabilities in support of the three lines of defence framework with a mandate to enable business growth, within risk appetite, through a culture of effective challenge and continuous improvement. The TD Global Finance Limited (TDGF) role provides local oversight of TDS businesses operating in Ireland, working closely with colleagues in the TDS ORM and Corporate Function ORM teams.

Specific Responsibilities:

Primary purpose of role is to provide Operational Risk focused support for the new EU Banking Licence project, participate in the Risk Management workstream of the Authorisation Assessment Process, and provide Risk expertise in the 3 core phases of the application: Exploratory, Draft Application and Application Phase.Support the TDGF CRO and TDGF Director, Operational Risk in all matters relating to operational risk management.

Support regional oversight and independent challenge of ORM activities for TDS ORM and TDGF ORM businesses and operations, across operational risk programmes, including for:

Internal and external operational risk eventsRisk and Control Self-AssessmentsControl TestingIssues ManagementKey IndicatorsScenario Analysis; andOperational Risk Training

Work with SMEs to provide TDGF's 2nd line oversight and challenge of other non-financial risks, such as:  Third-Party, including Outsourcing RiskOps Resilience RiskFraud Risk

Support the TDGF CRO and TDGF Director, Operational Risk in development of TDGF ORM risk appetite statement principles and measures and responsible for monitoring (and reporting on) compliance therewith
 Support the implementation and localization/maintenance of Operational Risk frameworks, policies, standards, and procedures in coordination with the Group risk program and as required under the Banking Licence.

Support TDGF Director, ORM with analysis, interpretation, and consolidation of operational risk reporting to the TDGF CRO for onward reporting to senior management and the TDGF Board of Directors

Develop and maintain good relationships with key business and operational risk management partners and other stakeholders.

Responsible for keeping local and functional managers current and apprised of all relevant operational, risk management and control issues.

Initiate actions to further improve your own skills and performance; continuously look for opportunities for professional development.
