What is the opportunity?
Our client is a specialist provider of asset services, custody, payments and treasury services. Founded in 1864, they are the 10th largest bank worldwide and the 5th in North America, as measured by market capitalization. They are among a small group of highly rated global banks and are recognized time and time again for our financial strength, market leadership and philanthropic work.
Our client has a processing centre of operational excellence supporting 10 countries across three geographical time zones employing a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports a 24/5 operational capability. The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of their global operations, improve service quality via their ‘centres of excellence’ and to implement/leverage standardised processes globally.
What will you do?
Support implementation of Enterprise Operational Risk Management Framework requirements.Conduct Risk Control Self Assessments (RCSA) reviews, working closely with key stakeholders and relevant subject matter experts, to identify and evaluate risks & key controls, develop action plans.Conduct targeted operational control reviews &/or periodic control testing reviews.Advise the management and staff on operational and general risk management matters, applying a risk-based approach that balances business considerations and appropriate risk mitigation.Prepare monthly & quarterly risk reports to senior management by providing input and highlighting areas requiring management attention.Collate, analyze, validate, investigate and report on Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).Review and analyze Operational Risk Events and other operational errors to identify root causes and corrective measures.Conduct follow-up of prior audit issues and assess resolution status and effectiveness of action plans.Analyze and review emerging risk issues.Prepare Front Office risk scorecard reporting to management.What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
University degree in Accountancy, Business Administration, Finance or other relevant professional qualificationsAt least 2 - 5 years’ relevant experience in private banking / wealth management platformStrong understanding of operational risk practices and regulatory requirements and expectations in WM business with a control mindsetExperience from working in a variety of businesses within WM and strong knowledge of WM products will be an advantageStrong presentation and communication (verbal and written skills)Maturity level and skill / judgment to be able to deal effectively with senior managersGood impact and influencing skillsStrong problem solving, analytical (including qualitative analysis), research and quantitative skillsStrong system knowledgeWhat’s in it for you?
