Description:

Enterprise Risk Management is seeking a well-qualified individual to support the Operational Risk Management (ORM) team in the execution of its varied responsibilities, such as operational incident reviews, capital planning, risk appetite monitoring, Risk and Control Self-Assessment enhancement, key risk indicator monitoring, risk measurement, and risk reporting.

The Operational Risk intern should possess solid analytical and logical skills to support the ORM team on a diverse portfolio of projects pertaining to the mitigation of operational risk at State Street.  Activities throughout the summer may include individual and team projects, supporting key deliverables and initiatives,  and attending and participating in learning events related to ERM and the larger organization. The preferred candidate will have many of the qualifications below:
 

Requirements:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsSelf-starter who is able to work efficiently with minimal supervisionAbility to work in a dynamic team environment and think clearly under pressureAbility to work on multiple projects with a good attention to detailAbility to interact with and build relationships with people from various departments and levels of seniorityStrong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate and form independent judgmentsInterest in learning about State Street and the banking / financial services industryCommitment to excellenceSolid capabilities with the MS Office suite of toolsSome exposure to data analytics tools such as Tableau or PowerBI

Qualifications

Strong data analytical and communication skills

Currently Enrolled in Bachelors in Computer Science, Mathematics or Finance

Some programming (Phyton and R) skills and experience will be useful in order to successfully engage in the operational risk AI project

Intellectual curiosity, flexibility and ability to work in a self-motivated environment

Attention to detail

Strong knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint is a plus

Salary Range:

$15,600 - $58,500 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
