Due to Growth, we are looking for 2 x Operational Support Manager to join our team in Continental Europe, the role can be based in Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, UK or Ireland.
This is a crucial role to our business in ensuring smooth and efficient functioning of our operations There will be constant travelling, at times long periods in other countries Fluency in English is required plus fluency in a minimum of 1 other language French, Dutch, Spanish or Italian. Must be from a Logistics/warehouse environment
You will execute the operational implementation plan to ensure a smooth start-up and/or redirect an operation back on track. Managing key clients’ projects within scope, time and costs. With this role you will make daily operational decisions.
What you do on a typical day – Operation Support Manager
Supporting the operational team offering work instructions, training when implementing new procedures ensuring understanding of new work practices. Managing new startups and existing teams, supporting staff gaining trust, relationships management and trust. Partner with key functional groups that are part of implementation (HR, IT, Operations, etc.) to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and provide data inputs for those groups where required. Provide tools to site team to track and report on established Key Performance Indicators. Provide labor planning tool tailored to the client’s business and agreed upon operating processes. Identify and procure all necessary capital expense items to support successful launch of operation. Secure that logistic requirements are met in product design, supply chain developments and related quality performance. Secure availability of accurate implementation plans for engineering changes and challenge the project on timing and supply chain impact. Monitor proper execution of this implementation plan. Support Project leaders in managing product critical path within the boundaries of the triple constraint (quality, timing, cost). Drive the preparation of supply chain and report progress for new, revised and phase down parts. Define and execute projects to drive the preparation within the sector. Manage phase down of products in supply chain in cross sector product team. Consciously dealing with the reduction of environmental impact in terms of waste, energy, water, and fuel consumption
What you need to succeed at GXO
Master’s degree in a relevant area with accompanying high level analytical skills. Broad experience in the field of Logistics and how a warehouse works, ideally some knowledge of automation. Minimum of 5 years of experience a complex and multidimensional organisation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Fluent in English (verbal and written), and fluency in a minimum of one other language including French, Dutch, Spanish or Italian
