Focus: The Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Engineer is responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of Olin’s OT systems, which are vital to the organization's infrastructure. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain robust cybersecurity measures that protect Olin’s OT environment from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
Operational Technology Cybersecurity Engineer Essential Job Functions: Create and enforce cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards for OT systems. Create detailed diagrams, requirements, implementation plans, processes, and procedures to document network architecture and implementation of solutions and their operations Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses on OT systems to identify potential security risks and develop mitigation strategies. Develop and maintain an incident response plan for OT-related cybersecurity incidents, including detection, response, and recovery procedures. Continuously monitor OT networks and systems for unusual activities and potential security breaches using advanced monitoring tools and techniques. Work closely with IT and OT teams to ensure seamless integration of cybersecurity measures across the organization's infrastructure. Conduct training sessions and awareness programs for employees to promote cybersecurity best practices and ensure compliance with security policies. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to OT cybersecurity. Oversee the timely application of security patches and system upgrades to OT systems to address vulnerabilities. Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of OT cybersecurity policies, procedures, and incident reports. Serve as a technical liaison and align the IT and Operational Technology (OT) organizational units to ensure production facilities, operations, and systems are following security best practices Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats Contribute to developing strategic OT/ICS Cybersecurity initiatives, technology projects, and security programs across Olin; to the design and review of secure ICS/OT network architectures, and data flows including communication between applications, ports, protocols, and services; and to the creation of OT/ICS cybersecurity guardrails to ensure all OT architectures, solutions, and technologies across Olin are built using a secure-by-design methodology Utilize frameworks and standards such as NIST 800-53, NIST 800-82, NIST IR 8183, NIST CSF, ISA/IEC-62443, MITRE ATT&CK / D3FEND in an ICS environment Operational Technology Cybersecurity Engineer Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree* in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GICSP, or CEH are preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience focused on OT systems. Experience in industrial control systems (ICS) security is highly desirable. Proficiency in cybersecurity technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus software, network administration and monitoring tools, and server architecture and administration concepts. Experience with selecting, designing, architecting, and deploying security technologies to an OT/ICS environment. Demonstrated understanding of OT/ICS critical infrastructure, including an understanding of threats, vulnerabilities, attack paths, and exploits in an OT/ICS environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential security threats and vulnerabilities with high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex cybersecurity concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to influence others, work effectively, and communicate effectively at all levels with operations, design, projects, vendors, peers, etc. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership behaviors across the enterprise through rigorous change management and compliance processes while driving efficiencies. Experience in conducting and/or leading OT cybersecurity assessments (risk, vulnerability) and creating a detailed mitigation plan and recommendations to address gaps identified. Prior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred. This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
