Job Description

Grace is seeking an Operational Technology (OT) Network Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure team and reports to Manager Telecommunications & OT IT Systems. This is an onsite position at our Lake Charles, LA site and requires the ability to travel up to 20% to include domestic and International Grace locations. 

 

 

The OT Network Engineer will play a crucial role in designing and implementing networking, virtualization, monitoring, and backup systems, in accordance with Grace's OT standards. This position focuses on deploying industrial and commercial virtual platforms, servers, and backup systems to enhance the manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot and support OT networks in concert with other members of the OT team to ensure rapid response of issues related to plant floor production networking systems.

 


The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work collaboratively in a team environment, possess exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and refined communication skills.

Responsibilities OT Network Design and Implementation: Planning, creating, and deploying an OT network infrastructure that meets the Grace’s standards. System Design & Implementation: Lead the setup and deployment of virtualization platforms, servers, and backup systems within the manufacturing environment, ensuring compliance with Grace OT networking standards. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align IT and operational goals, providing technical support and guidance throughout implementation phases. Network Design Guidance: Provide design expertise on network configurations and setups specifically for OT environments. Vendor Collaboration: Partner with control systems vendors, local IT, and OT teams to set up, configure, and deploy new hardware installations, including servers, switches, and PCs. Security Compliance: Review security requirements to ensure the network complies with established security standards, including familiarity with the Purdue model framework. Vulnerability Evaluation: Assess systems and networks for security vulnerabilities, offering solutions to address identified risks. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate clearly and proactively with stakeholders regarding reasons for required changes to systems and processes. Strategic Participation: Participate in Operations Technology meetings, reviews, and strategic discussions to align SI initiatives with operational goals. Requirements B.S./ BA degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. In lieu of degree will consider equivalent relevant work experience.  7-10 years of network engineering experience. Ability to travel up to 20% to include both domestic and international. Cisco (Layer2 and Layer3) switching and routing technologies. Windows Server Virtualization (VMWare). Network technologies and topologies (Cable standards). Structured cabling for Copper and Fiber network connections.
  Physical Requirements Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respiratorAbility to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a manufacturing Plant. Server Backup systems (Veeam). Windows Server and Client operating system. Distributed Control systems knowledge and experience (Honeywell, Rockwell, Siemens). Claroty and Sentinel one or any other AntiVirus solution. Server and Workstation Patch Management. Certifications - CCNP, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+.
