Job Description AbbVie’s Information Security team is seeking a candidate to join our newly forming Operational Technology (OT) Security Team. The OT Security Engineer will support the safeguarding of AbbVie’s Manufacturing and Research Technologies and assist in ensuring the security of critical infrastructure systems that support AbbVie's business operations. This role will focus on assessing and mitigating risks associated with OT systems, supporting the development and implementation of security controls, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Major Duties and Responsibilities: + Assist in Operational Technology (OT) Security aspects of AbbVie’s Manufacturing and Research Technology initiatives. + Support architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and operational transition of secure technology solutions. + Assist in cybersecurity assessments including network topology reviews and mapping of data flows. + Contribute to the creation of OT/ICS cybersecurity guardrails and best practice guidelines. + Utilize industry standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST-800-82, NIST CSF 2.0) to support enhanced cyber defense strategies. + Participate in cybersecurity risk assessments to identify critical gaps and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies. + Provide assistance in industry standard committees or work groups for OT/ICS environments. + Support communication and education efforts around OT Cyber initiatives. Experience and Skills: + Exposure to OT/ICS critical infrastructure in Pharmaceuticals or similar industries is preferred. + Familiarity with frameworks and standards such as NIST SP 800-82 and NIST CSF 2.0. + Basic understanding of conducting cybersecurity assessments (risk, vulnerability) and any experience in creating mitigation plans is a plus. + Ability to learn how to design and implement security technologies in an OT/ICS environment. + Demonstrated interest or introductory experience in OT cybersecurity projects, including basic network design and architecture understanding. + Basic proficiency in OT/ICS network design is desirable, along with the ability to learn and adapt. Specifically, we’re looking for: + Strong motivation to understand threats, vulnerabilities, and risk management in an OT/ICS environment. + Basic proficiency in communication skills, both oral and written. + A collaborative mindset and willingness to work effectively in a team environment with various stakeholders. Qualifications + Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years experience OR Masters Degree and 5 years experience OR PhD and no experience in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. + Must have relevant work experience in Operational Technology, Security Engineering due to the complexity of our global OT Security environment. + Cybersecurity certification such as the CISSP, or GICSP is preferred, but not required.
