Job Summary (includes but is not limited to the following, other duties may be assigned)
Responsible for the implementation of solution and operations design to ensure that the organization’s operational and strategic objectives are met on projects. Focuses on execution to ensure goals and objectives together with operations performance targets are achieved. Provide analytical support for Calpine’s 725 MW fleet of geothermal power facilities, covering all aspects of thermal performance. Responsibilities include the development and use of analytical tools used to support plant business decisions for monitoring the efficiency and capability of generating assets, trending and improving plant performance, and plant betterment. Results and trends used to support business decisions of generating assets.
Develop and maintain thermal performance monitoring tools for ongoing thermal performance assessment of the geothermal fleet. Conduct performance tests, collect and analyze operating data, and develop operational plans and equipment recommendations to optimize performance and profitability. Assist plant engineers to successfully monitor plant performance and operational trends and investigate any potential problems. Identify plant performance improvement opportunities and provide analysis for management decision-making.Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent. Requires 3-5 years’ experience.Preferred Qualifications Include
Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering Strong background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and statistics. Experience using tools used for data analysis, e.g. Python, R, SQL, pandas, Tableau, PowerBI, etc. Plant engineering, development, engineering for OEMs, and/or work as an Independent Engineer experience. Salary Range - $92,121.00 - $117,454.00
