Key Accountabilities:

Individual Accountabilities:

• Act as an Operations Analyst for the various applications utilized for Derivatives trading, valuation, accounting, and reporting, along with VAH analytics covering both day to day production support and substantial project and enhancement activity. This would include:

   1. Responsible for providing support to business and systems management in addressing complex derivatives and VAH business issues, assessing risk, presenting recommendations, and implementing solutions

   2. Work with delivery manager and key business resources to define and manage the scope, approach, and requirements of enhancement requests with specific emphasis on creating integrated, strategic solutions

   3. Identify complex operational business issues and aid in the facilitation of development activities for solutions involving workflow procedures and/or new technologies that are consistent with business long – term strategic plans

   4. Responsible for gathering, documenting, and executing business/system requirements and test plans and cases for various business and production issues in a timely fashion

• Be the point of contact in Manila for coordinating user queries relating to the various applications used within Derivatives and VAH groups

• Ensure all necessary documentation is maintained including requirements documents, support, processes and procedure manuals

• Ensure compliance and adherence to defined technology procedures and processes


Job Requirements:

• 3+ years of progressive business analysis experience involving Derivatives, Variable Annuity Hedging and/or other relevant financial instruments
• Excellent knowledge of the derivatives and variable annuity business operations and issues, along with a strong understanding of the Company’s various businesses
• Superior analytical and diagnostic skills; extensive knowledge and understanding of process design, analytical and productivity improvement methodologies
• Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to generate original ideas to support Company initiatives; superior strength in evaluating feasibility of ideas and options, assessing risks and trade – off, and making informed and timely decisions
• Excellent interpersonal skills and strength in facilitating and presenting in large group settings; strong interviewing, influencing, and negotiating skill across the organization
• Demonstrated superior flexibility in the face of ambiguous situations, shifting demands, and challenging work environments
• Excellent initiative and ability to commit to a course of action in the face of risks and uncertainty
• The key responsibility will be the support for users with similar business hours as the team (Manila day shift); however, additional responsibilities may be given as pertains to production support of North America business cycle and various critical tasks during quarter-ends and year-ends

• Other responsibilities may be assigned by the MBPS IS Management or the Manulife Business Unit as deemed necessary in the course of the business operations.

Technical Skills:

Familiarity with scheduler or file mover software (such as CAWLA) is a plus.NET, JAVA, SQL, shell scripting, Visual Basic
