OPERATIONS ANALYST (EODT 2025-22):
Bowhead seeks a Operations Analyst to join our team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center – Crane Division (NSWC-Crane). The Operation Analyst will provide support for current Electro-Optic Infrared (EO/IR) projects and assist in managing Innovation efforts across Crane. The Operations Analyst must have extreme attention to detail and organization skills and must be an expert user of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, Microsoft Access skills are also crucial for reviewing feasibility and implementing recommendations.
ResponsibilitiesEssential functions will include:
Provide all labor, material and administrative costs to support and perform the following tasks under this level of effort TI. Identify gaps between the current and ideal state, and assist in the development and implementation of rapid improvement action plans for the efforts required to close or eliminate the identified gaps.Develop methods to collect performance and conformity data in order to conduct statistical analysis to help guide and inform continuous improvement and strategic planning.
Conduct process analysis on current and future processes to develop a generalize process description, determine opportunities for improvement, and areas where potential non-conformities could occur.
Conduct studies of current policies and procedural documentation to determine where similar documentation exists and assist with the consolation of similar documentation.
Develop process evaluation program(s) to identify waste and devise efficient systems that include the interactions between workers, materials, machine and information.Assist lab and engineering branches to develop standard processes by comparing like products and processes to determine where overlapping methods and requirements can be reduced or combined into a common process or procedure.
Other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field with ten (10) years of experience in Operations Management including demonstrated experience leading productivity analysis and continuous improvement projects.Experience identifying, evaluating, and presenting project risk, and experience in performing cost/benefit and best value analyses of proposed courses of action or on-going operations.Green Belt or Black Belt certifications are required
Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. Applicants who currently hold a secret clearance are strongly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
