In International Wealth and Premier Banking we serve 41 million customers globally, including 6.7 million who are international, from retail customers to ultra high net worth individuals and their families. We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team in the role ofOperations and Control Managerworking together with colleagues to define, manage and achieve divisional business targets.
Principal Responsibilities:
The role holder will be required to assess the effectiveness of controls relating to sales channel risks and identifying and raising issues where control gaps lead to material unaddressed risks.The jobholder will be responsible for establishing and managing the overall sales channels operation and control of WPB business, that is in providing independent oversight, challenging and advising management, and ensuring the effectiveness, quality and robustness of WPB internal controls in place, with emphasis on all the quality standards, within our WPB Business.The role holder is to act as the first line of defence in Distribution channel that is aligned to all control procedures and control requirements.The role holder has oversight over all the sales channels internal controls in line with risk appetite and any regulatory and Group Standards / Policy requirements.Job Holder will be tasked to sampling checks to be carried out, to provide an additional line of defence for conduct risk. This includes audit findings. Recommendations to be provided where warranted.The jobholder also to proactive analysing, define and providing improvisation in the branch operation best practices, control and prevention measures.Some careers grow faster than others.

Recommendations to be provided where warranted.The jobholder also to proactive analysing, define and providing improvisation in the branch operation best practices, control and prevention measures.Bachelor Degree in Business or related field desired but not necessary dependent upon prevailing market conditions.At least 5 years of relevant Management experience in financial services and/or call centre operations is desired but not necessary dependent upon prevailing market.Appropriate local certifications for Sales/Risk roles.Qualification in Financial Planning (preferably).Knowledge of compliance process and procedures or similar experience.Comprehensive knowledge of financial Services / industry / products / regulation.Ability to make important decisions and take decisive actions.Communicate at all levels with confidence (written verbal).Good working knowledge of HSBC and the IWPB business including relevant sales and risk systems.Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of HSBC Sales Quality Standards and Sales Procedures and application in a holistic planning approach.Good organisational and coaching skills.Ability to understand urgency and prioritisation when required.Opening up a world of opportunity
