Maxar is seeking an Operations and Maintenance Engineer to join a multi-faceted software development and systems administration team working to build and maintain software applications backed by a self-managed high-performance compute (HPC) infrastructure on a private cloud system. We are responsible for the system from the hardware to the user interface.
Principal Responsibilities:
Participate in the implementation, maintenance, and support of information technologies, to include OpenShift, OpenStack, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and other service components. Develops, schedules, and performs installation and upgrades to OS/COTS, software, and database packages in accordance with established IT policies and procedures. Coordinate the overall integration of new systems as they transition to the Production environment. Manages appropriate software solutions to ensure server data integrity, monitoring and tuning the system to achieve optimum performance level, monitoring security alerts and application systems, and working with other staff to ensure that all appropriate patches are applied in an automated and timely fashion. Enterprise system management, performing monitoring and reporting Technical support for all production and non-production services and applications Serve as the key technical leader in support of the deployed systems across multiple areas of the enterprise (e.g. hardware, network, including interconnection and interfaces) Responsible for the tracking and resolving of all issues presented by the customer Work with the development team to ensure necessary changes are made to the solutions that resolve problems and improve the operational functionality as well as improve overall performance Develop action plans to address service requests (tickets) and mitigate issuesMinimum Requirements:
Eight (8) years' experience in system administration, DevOps, operations and maintenance, or network management Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in related discipline and a minimum of 6 years of professional level experience. Understanding and experience working with identity management systems including LDAP and token-based authentication systems Experience with the Creation of Bash Scripts and ansible playbooks Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following: Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security Top Secret SCI with a CI PolygraphDesired Skills:
Experience with OpenStack or OpenShift Configuration management and change management experience Experienced in the administration and systems engineering in Linux Experience with RedHat Operating Systems, networking, and on-premises systems#cjpost

● The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $131,000.00 - $219,000.00 annually.For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
