Operations Associate

Focus Partners Wealth seeks a motivated and qualified individual for the position of Operations Associate. In this role, the individual will work with a team to support the day-to-day operations of a large financial advisory firm. This is a central seat with exposure to all aspects of the firm including, but not limited to, Operations & Technology, Client Service, Wealth Management, Investment Management, and Compliance. The ideal candidate is a natural leader who is organized, shows attention to detail, is solution-orientated, and flexible.

Primary responsibilities for this position include:

Processing account applications, asset-transfer forms, and client-specific requests at various custodians (e.g., check requests, distributions); Communicating and interfacing with custodians on behalf of client(s), and initiating proactive follow-through on such action points; Maintaining and updating databases using multiple technologies, in connection with new securities, new assets, reconciliation inputs, etc.; Assisting with The Colony Group’s quarterly investment reporting to clients; Assisting the Chief Compliance Officer and wealth management teams with internal compliance and external custodian paperwork necessary for new accounts and assets; Conduct bi-weekly and monthly audits of internal systems (including restrictions, asset categorization, performance reconciliation; and Maintaining electronic and physical records and files in an orderly fashion.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 1+ years of operations/client service experience in financial services; Familiarity with brokerage or registered investment advisory firm operations; A basic understanding of investments and the financial markets; Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and proven ability to learn other software and technology; Notable attention to detail, self-initiated follow-through, and outstanding time management and organizational skills; Strong quantitative and analytical abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to juggle multiple and competing tasks and demands; and Familiarity with Tamarac & Salesforce systems a plus but not required.

This is a non-exempt position.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $60 - $62k.  Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed and the applicant's skill set.  The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.  Other reward may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package
