Operations Controller

Position Summary:

Are you looking for a hands-on role at a great company? As Operations Controller, you will be integrated into the day-to-day activity of the business and responsible for leading all operational accounting activity for the company, including responsibility for financial control of our US manufacturing plants. Additionally, you will help upgrade, develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures by way of systems that will improve the company's overall operation, efficiency, and financial condition.

This role will report to the Vice President of Finance and will lead the Operations Finance Team (3 direct reports).

This is a hybrid role based in Novi, MI.

Principal functional responsibilities:

Operations Financial Control is responsible for directing the organization's accounting functions and areas of focus including:

Operational Accounting

Plant Financial Control

Cost Accounting

Creating and maintaining planning and budgeting systems, the preparation of financial and management reports and procedures, and the presentation of findings and specific recommendations to senior management

Analyzing and interpreting trends requiring management's attention

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business from a four-year college or university; CPA or MBA required

Minimum 10 years of related experience and/or training; minimum of 5 years in a senior management role. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Demonstrated progressive financial experience in a manufacturing background

Intimate understanding of manufacturing operations; Strong knowledge of and practical application of US GAAP and internal controls

Strong ability to provide business insights through analytical skills and financial modeling

Solid experience with IT systems implementation and continuous improvement

Proficiency in MS Office suite and advanced Excel skills. Must be able to prepare reports, employee performance reviews, worksheets, charts, schedules, procedures, and other data as necessary

Ability to present to a group of co-workers, supervisors, managers, or higher-level executives

Experience with JDE, Hyperion Financial Management, Stratum, and data mining

Preferred Experience

Big 4 experience
