Looking for Director of Operations for Nashville

 

A great opportunity growth within a successful company. SSR, one of the most progressive and innovative engineering firms is looking for an Operations Director. The Operations Director directs the cost effectiveness of operations, ensures resources are in place to support staff and project needs, and ensures all projects are delivered at their highest quality and efficiency. Assists in the managing of the financial and marketing resources for the
location/group. Strives for continuous optimization within the project delivery process and client satisfaction. Develops, maintains, and manages client relationships and needs; assists in the identification of new business development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintains personal service relationships with major long-term clients and ensures client satisfaction Assists the Business Unit Leader in planning, recruiting, selecting, and providing training for division staff Supervises the preparation of routine proposals and quotations to clients to ensure proper scoping of
services, availability of manpower, and pricing to render a profit Supervises or monitors all projects in progress in the department to ensure the work is executed on time,
in accordance with the client’s requirements, and within company policies, procedures, and standards Ensures that personnel adhere to the requirements of the company quality assurance and quality control
policies and procedures Assigns work to appropriate staff based on client needs, project type, projected workload, and staff
abilities Supervises the administrative systems of the department to ensure that reports, proposals, field visits,
and information required to service the client are properly prepared and reported Maintains department consistency, collaboration, and cohesion across all offices and staff under the
direction of the Business Unit Leader Ensures that routine company administrative policies are followed by all department personnel such as
time sheets, expense reports, and purchase order requirements Evaluates the performance of all employees within the department and assists them in their professional
development and growth in accordance with company policies and procedures under the direction of the
Business Unit Leader Supervises the efficient utilization of all facilities and equipment assigned to the department and requests
additional equipment and facilities as needed to meet the client’s demands Actively engages in industry-specific professional activities to promote the technical reputation or image
of the firm Supports and assists in the development of new business markets and opportunities

 

An ideal candidate will possess the following requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering AND fourteen years of relevant experience Eight years of experience specifically in project management Registered Professional Engineer Interpersonal Skills – ability to interact positively and work effectively with others Personnel Management Skills – hires and assembles talented staff; clearly assigns responsibility for tasks and
decisions setting clear objectives; measures, monitors process, progress and results and gives feedback;
regularly reviews performance and holds timely discussions; can make hard decisions when necessary Leadership Skills – establishing a clear vision and sharing that vision with others so that they will follow
willingly; providing the information, knowledge and methods to realize that vision; coordinating and
balancing the conflicting interests of all members and stakeholders Business Acumen –knowledgably in policies, practices, trends and information affecting business and the
organization; knows the competition; aware of how strategies work in the marketplace Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, and Outlook) and web browser applications Knowledge of engineering principles and methodologies Knowledge of the application of relevant federal, state, and local codes Knowledge of contracts and project management
