The Director of Operations for Division 1 is responsible for the overall performance including but not limited to the safety performance, gas pipeline facilities operations and maintenance, regulatory compliance, budget preparation and stewardship, human resource management, training compliance, emergency response, technical and engineering project oversight, stewardship of the division damage prevention program, and federal/state/public liaison.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage the performance of direct reports, including Operations Managers, Technical Services Manager, and administration support personnel to operate and maintain the pipelines and all associated facilities in a safe, compliant, efficient and reliable manner.Develop annual division goals that align with corporate, business unit and regional goals and objectives.Routinely monitor all key areas of performance and develop plans to ensure company, business unit, region and division goals and objectives are accomplished.Oversee coordination of field operation and maintenance activities with Gas Control, Engineering, Business Development, EH&S and Finance Departments.Promote and steward division operations & maintenance budgets and financial forecasting. Oversee and administer approved budgets.Direct division's performance to meet or exceed all safety, budgetary, and regulatory compliance requirements and ensure alignment with corporate goals, including KM's Operations Management System.Coordinate, prepare or maintain various reports, records, and other documents concerning maintenance and operations issues, financial management, safety & regulatory compliance, and employee administrative issues.Develop and actively steward manager/employee development to meet changing staffing needs for all areas.Provide frequent communication to employees via email, conference calls, presentations, in group and one-on-one meetings to disseminate meaningful information, communicate goals, promote positive performance and develop a strong company culture.Actively promote all Corporate and HR initiatives and ensure compliance in all recruiting, promotional opportunities and in the disciplinary process.Maintain a current working knowledge of regulatory and company operating requirements and coordinate activities with regulatory agencies, other company departments, customers, the public and Senior Management.Ensure all division employees are familiar with manuals, policies/procedures and technical standards.Act as Incident Commander and Qualified Individual for an emergency response and as leader of the division Emergency Response Team as needed based on the level of an incident/accident.Coordinate emergency response activities in conjunction with the Crisis Management Team. Activate and coordinate the Crisis Support Team if necessary.
