The Operations Engineer 1 reports to Technical Leadership and provides manufacturing expertise to solve difficult problems and continuously improve our manufacturing organization and/or supply base. The role supports production from a technical standpoint.
What You Will Be Doing
Has a comprehensive understanding of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) concepts and supports new product introductionSupports the manufacturing floor with any process-related questionsCreates and maintains process documentation and updates work order documentationSupports the implementation of basic engineering changesUnderstands Six Sigma and lean tools for process improvement and learns the steps involved to incorporate process improvementsSupports new capital equipment purchases and implementationSupports cell layouts and process improvement initiativesAdheres to applicable Quality System requirementsSupports Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, and Control PlansLearns from more senior Operations EngineersWhat We Are Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in arts/sciences (BA/BS) Technical/Science or international equivalent requiredPrevious internship experience in a related industry is highly preferredNo prior professional experience is requiredStrong written and verbal communication skills, basic presentation abilities, general computer proficiency, and basic technical writing skillsGeneral Six Sigma knowledge; basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing conceptsGeneral troubleshooting and problem-solving skills; general understanding of Root Cause AnalysisGeneral understanding of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) concepts and supports new product introductionGeneral understanding and ability to read electrical and/or mechanical machine drawingsManufacturing Engineering: general understanding of applicable manufacturing processes; ability to apply advanced knowledge of capability studies, Gage R&R, and machine capability; general understanding and ability to read product drawingsIndustrial Engineering: general understanding of applicable manufacturing processes; ability to apply advanced knowledge of capability studies, Gage R&R, and machine capability; general understanding and ability to read product drawingsApplication window is anticipated to close 30 days from original posting date.
