Are you ready to make your mark?  If you’re an Operations Engineer, we have an exciting opportunity for you. The Operations Engineer (level 4) reports to Technical Leadership and whose focus is performing design and support of high complexity manufacturing systems and equipment, mentoring to other Engineers and driving process improvements. This position works under a low level of supervision with a high level of independent work. The Staff Operations Engineer provides awareness and understanding of overall project portfolio, interactions and issues. In addition, this position may participate in project specific relationship building with Customers, Suppliers, individuals or organizations.

What You Will Be Doing 

Plans, schedules and coordinates detailed phases of advanced technical solutions and leads team through processMay carry out complex or novel research assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and proceduresInitiates, justifies, and implements new complex capital equipment purchasesCreates value stream layouts and process improvement initiatives to a high complexityUses advanced Six Sigma and lean tools to improve processes. Coaches other department members in the theory and application of these processes.Represents the company with our customers, may lead technical discussions and present continuous improvement solutions to the customer in a review formatDirects and leads updates to management on operations statusPromotes and implements process improvements. Evaluates and defines engineering processes and procedures.Creates, maintains and develops new process documentation. Supplies guidance on new documentation systems.Creates, maintains and adheres to applicable Quality System requirements and leads process auditsDirects Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, and Control Plan ReviewsMentors and trains Operations Engineers and Manufacturing Specialists on automation solutions at different sites 

What We Are Looking For 

Level 3 – Operations Engineer

US – Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Technical/Science or international equivalent requiredGreater than 4 years professional engineering experience or a combination of experience and advanced degree required

Level 4 – Operations Engineer

US – Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Technical/Science or international equivalent requiredUS – Master's degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) or international equivalent preferred8+ years professional engineering experience or a combination of experience and advanced degree required

Advanced written/verbal communication and presentation skillsAdvanced Six Sigma systems knowledge; Advanced understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and promotes a lean manufacturing culture site wideAdvanced Project planning toolsAdvanced troubleshooting and problem solving skills; Advanced understanding of Root Cause AnalysisStrong computer skills and excellent technical writing skillsUses advanced concepts of Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) and implements them into new product development. Coaches the engineering department on the theory and application of DFMA.Advanced understanding of electrical and/or mechanical machine drawings, including industry specificationsExcellent understanding of applicable manufacturing processes in multiple industries including Computer Numeric Controls (CNC) programming; Ability to apply advanced knowledge of capabilities studies, Gage R&R, and machine capability; Advanced understanding of machinery related to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, etc. in order to specify equipment, procure equipment, and create new processes/machinery; Advanced understanding of product drawings, including GD&T and specification flow downKnowledge on database management software skills; Advanced programming knowledge of applicable software (i.e. G Code, CNC, PLC, etc.)
