Operations Engineer II (Freeport, TX)** **Freeport, TX** We are looking for a Operations Engineer to join our Petrochemicals (CP) team in Freeport, TX. **Come create chemistry with us!** The Petrochemicals division is the starting point of BASF’s petrochemical-based value chains throughout the regions. The division manufactures and markets a broad portfolio of high-quality basic chemicals and tailored specialties for internal and external customers. We are seeking a professional like you to join our Freeport, TX site in the Acrylic Acid 400 Block. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for supporting the daily operation of the Acrylic Acid 3 plant while providing technical assistance in executing the required production plan. You will apply Engineering Best Practices to solve process and production problems and create improvements in the plant operations. You will analyze productivity, quality, and maintenance data and use that information to optimize existing plant equipment. This position requires you to demonstrate your strong leadership qualities in safe plant operation, as the site has PSM/RMP regulated chemicals. **As a Senior Operations Engineer, you create chemistry by...** + Demonstrating your commitment to a safe and environmentally friendly workplace. + Supporting and modeling EHS activities and processes. + Developing and implementing processes to achieve compliance with EHS regulations. + Leading the coordination, completion, and documentation of PSSR/MOC reviews to meet process safety and environmental requirements. + Providing technical support in root cause failure analysis for EHS incidents. + Monitoring operations on a daily/weekly basis and analyzing and studying trends to determine patterns, research inefficiencies, and identify action plans to correct issues. + Developing and implementing process improvement plans that will enhance safety, quality, plant reliability, cost, and efficiency. + Designing projects in accordance with plant requirements, BASF standards and regulatory requirements as well as serving as the Manufacturing Representative on Capital Projects. + Planning and executing of plant turnarounds to support plant outages. **If you...** + Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Chemistry (preferably Chemical or Mechanical Engineering). + Are familiar with chemical processes and equipment. + Are available “on-call”, should you need to respond to any after-hours event that impacts production or EHS. **Create your own chemistry with you@BASF** At BASF, you will have the chance to do meaningful work towards building a more sustainable future.
