Summary

This position reports to the Senior Director of Sciences organization within Kidney Care Solutions R&D and is based in R&D Center in Bangalore, India. This manager will be responsible for operational excellence within the Sciences R&D organization.

This role consists of successfully managing projects within boundaries of quality, time and budget. The incumbent is accountable for driving operational excellence across a department or organization. The incumbent displays general understanding of theories/practices of a variety of project management and operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The manager of Sciences R&D Operations supports a global organization within the Drug Products and Sciences in Kidney Care R&D. The organization spans across all stages of product life cycle and multiple disciplines. The Kidney Care portfolio consists of Chronic Renal Care solutions (~10 product families), Acute Therapy solutions (~5 product families), electromechanical devices (7 platforms) and disposables and filters (~100 product families).

This manager will be part of the Kidney Care Solutions R&D team. In this role the incumbent will

Manage execution of strategic projects for the organization including plans, schedules and implementation. Be responsible for defining scope of work for the project team.Lead special initiatives, business transformation activities, and manage essential operational processes, such as forecast planning, headcount tracking, and functional reporting.Review and analyze proposals to determine if benefits derived and possible applications justify expenditures. Recommend proposal to management for consideration and allocation of funds. Responsible for preparation of project cost estimates up to multi-million dollar range. Monitors all project expenditures and cost tracking.Responsible for policy setting and defining procedures for the staff in accomplishing and documenting projects

Qualifications

Well-versed in operations, financial and project management disciplines.Able to organize and communicate complex information to various audiences including senior management.Self-motivated and capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience, as well as with project management tools.Works well in a team environment and effectively working in cross-functional teams.Possesses an agile mindset.Ability to design and implement in own area of expertise.Has demonstrated effective supervisory and project management skills.An advantage to have understanding of GMPs, FDA guidelines and in general quality systems associated with pharmaceutical and medical device development.

Education and Experience

Master of Science in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical sciences, polymer science  or related fields or Master of engineering in chemical, polymer and related engineering disciplines with at least 13 years of relevant experience.

Experience with Project management tools and formal training in project management is highly desired. The successful candidate will be an expert user in EXCEL and other office productivity tools and will use advanced analytical tools in MS office environment e.g. PowerBI.

Relevant experience will involve hands-on lab work in chemistry and related disciplines, project management of chemistry & pharmaceutical projects, operations of wet chemistry lab and operations roles supporting KPIs of a R&D-like organizations with a span of at least 50+ team members (preferably global teams or at least multiple sites within a given country).

Demonstrated experience in working with global team members and stakeholders is a must for this role.
