Operations Manager

Job Summary

An Operations Manager position is available at one of the world’s best fragrance and flavor companies located in our Fabric & Home Care Innovation Center in Holmdel, in the legendary Bellworks building. You will lead a multi-disciplinary Operations teams by identifying, developing, and implementing strategies, programs, initiatives and best practices for oil sample, perfumery, applications, evaluation preparation and QC labs.

You will spend your time...Managing the talents in IC&D Ops, securing career plans for the workforce and feeding the overall talent pipeline.Managing the onboarding and training programs for each new hire to minimize ramp up time and optimize performance. Defining sourcing strategies for each of the key roles. Building a talent profile that is a blend of experienced, long-term IC&D Operations employees and a pipeline that gains fundamental knowledge and skills, targeting a robust retention and succession plan. Creating and maintaining a culture of development that encourages team members to develop skills that will improve productivity and optimize team performance through excellent leadership, stretch goal setting, coaching, and development.Ensuring the creative center is designed and equipped to optimize the creative experience whilst operating in an efficient and effective manner, continuously improving operational performance against defined metrics. Designing and implementing a consistent sampling process flow to ensure optimal sampling, on time delivery (internal & external), quality, and cost to serve. Establishing and implementing short- and long-term organizational goals, objectives, and strategies that are aligned with global key performance indicators (KPIs). Creating and managing internal reports for the organization including monthly performance indicators such as on-time performance, lead time, capacity, and costs. Making recommendations for continuous improvement based on audits and metrics of the sampling process and the facility performance. Developing and implements strategic plans for key transformational projects. Defining standards for the creative center facilities, ensuring best-in-class space design to enhance creativity and required standards for extraction and air quality to support creative perfumery.   Implementing standards for evaluation facilities (physical spaces such as booths etc.) and equipment within global standards to incorporate local/(sub) regional variances. Ensuring that all processes, Standard Operating Procedures, systems, equipment, and tools required for the efficient and effective operation of the IC&D Ops departments are optimized and globally shared/aligned with IC&D laboratory counterparts around the globe. Driving and optimizing processes and automation to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and decrease inventory levels while maintaining high level of customer service.Optimizing lab infrastructure, ensuring that each has the capacity to meet KPIs. Partnering with Creative Catalogue, Value Creation, and Manufacturing teams to continuously improve cost to serve via ingredient rationalization, inventory management, raw material flow, and appropriate adaptation of operations to best enable value creation. Managing the Operational Expenditure through the IC&D Ops OPEX budget.Providing a source of expertise to support delivery of approved CAPEXes. Incorporating all cost to serve principles into IC&D operations. Fostering a proactive safety culture in the workplace, ensuring safety is the highest priority. Influencing internal and external stakeholders through methods of communication suited for the audience. Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Engineering and/ or Chemistry (or related). Chemical and/or Technical backgroundMinimum of 5 -7 years multi-disciplinary business process and management experience. 

Required Skills:

Written and Oral CommunicationWorking Microsoft Office knowledge Ability to work on cross-functional project teams. Working P&L knowledge Advanced Communication, Presentation and Influencing Business fluent in EnglishBusiness knowledge and acumen within the Fragrance Industry. Understanding of the creative process and link to manufacturing. Strong working knowledge of SAP in relationship with IC&D Ops processes
