Operations Manager

As the Operations Manager, you will support an integrated team to transition an integrated software solution to production operations and assume responsibility for day-to-day operations and management of the platform.  This position will be responsible for elaborating and refining requirements related to production operations, documenting production operations procedures and system life cycle deliverables, and leading an operations team in support of service delivery for an enterprise application hosted in a government cloud environment for a State Agency. 

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for helping to maintain a reliable and secure production operations environment and for coordinating with various vendors, both external and internal to the State agency.  You will also be responsible for creating and reviewing design artifacts and for tracking and managing the relevant tasks in the project integrated master schedule.

The scope of the program that you will be supporting as the Operations Manager includes systems modernization, managed services, process development for cloud services provisioning, data integration across modules, and enhancing cloud capabilities to solve mission problems.


HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Serve as the Operations Manager on the Program.Work with the Program team to elicit and refine the Operations and Maintenance requirements Prepare design documentation, including the development of an Operations Management Plan, a Systems Operations Manual and related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Support the team to transition applications to the Program cloud production environment Manage the IT infrastructure services in support of the Program and oversee the day-to-day operations of the application and supporting servicesCoordinate service delivery in response to technical issues and end user requestsMonitor system performance and institute corrective actions in collaboration with the Program leadership teamConduct technical peer reviews of software components pursuant to the migration of software to productionSupport the infrastructure team to define cloud resource requirements for the solution Support the test team to develop and manage the execution of performance / stress tests in a cloud-based environment in to identify potential performance anomalies / issues in the software; analyze results for recommended corrective actionsWork with the team to help adopt best practices for software development and production operations


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education: Bachelors degree in computer science or other related field

Required Experience

10+ years of related experience including 8+ years of operations management experience with a proven track record in the following areas:Infrastructure managementPerformance monitoringIncident managementCapacity planningSecurity managementCost administration and budgeting.Working knowledge of standard protocols such as OpenID Connect, OAuth 2.0Understanding of the full Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) --- hands on experience with custom software development / testing a plusHands on experience working in Cloud environments, Azure a plusStrong interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience working with stakeholders and development teams.  Strong written and verbal communication skills.Hands on experience managing integrated teamsProven ability to work independently while serving as an integral member of the team.

Preferred Skills:

4+ years working as an Operations Manager within an Agile cloud environment

The likely salary range for this position is $136,000 - $184,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
