Manufacturing Unit Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to oversee the operational aspects of local units, encompassing the full scope of Operations, including project management and control, project engineering, manufacturing, production engineering, maintenance, procurement, quality, continuous improvement, logistics, and planning and fulfillment, or a part of that. Each day, you will be responsible for developing business action plans for the units, aligned with business area/division/product group strategy and targets. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring strict adherence within the Operations with respect to policies and required health, safety, and integrity standards.The work model for the role is: ONSITEYou will be mainly accountable for:• Monitoring plan implementation and tracking any deviations for corrective action.• Preparing annual budget, overseeing progress, and determining measures to address cost-related issues as necessary, to manage operations within the allocated budget and resources.• Developing programs, projects, goals, and metrics to lead the organization to the highest level of operational performance while optimizing working capital throughout Operations.• Ensuring that the organization takes into account an overall value chain perspective to meet customer expectations as per agreed quality, service levels, and lead time.Our team dynamicsYou will join a dynamic, talented, high performing team, where you will be able to thrive.

Qualifications for the role

Bachelor degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field PLUS minimum 9 years of experience in operations management, preferably within the electrical or manufacturing industry OR Masters degree PLUS minimum 7 years related experience Proficiency in project management and process improvement methodologies. Experience managing salary and hourly employees. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations. Knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing principles and practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Fluent in Spanish, a plus. Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
